Flame creates the sizzle at our high-end American steakhouse. The finest cuts of beef and seafood are prepared to impress and delight in an atmosphere of rich wood, comfortable colors, fresh flower centerpieces and warm lighting. Traditional steaks or chops of beef, lamb or pork are prepared as cuts or on the bone. Try our impressive Ruthie's signature line of steaks such as the filet marmalade, Maryland ribeye or, our latest, the French onion filet. Seafood is at its best in the hands of our Chef d'Cuisine. Their attention to detail and delicate touch complete the best sautéed or grilled fish and seafood dishes imaginable. Chilean sea bass, wild-caught salmon, Australian lobster tail, and Argentinian red shrimp help to complete a menu dedicated to extraordinary dining.

To complement your fine dining experience, enjoy libations you'd expect from a metropolitan hot-spot. Our wine selection is vast and designed to be the best in Eastern Iowa. Choose, or let our experienced and intuitive team assist you in choosing, from the finest wines, craft cocktails, lagers and ales.

Host your shower, rehearsal dinner, private dinner or other event at Ruthie's by contacting Group Sales.

We kindly ask for your patience as we are experiencing nationwide supply chain constraints that impact quality, price and availability. This may unexpectedly change our daily menu selection. We strive to serve only the best products to our customers and apologize if we do not have your favorite dish during your visit. We appreciate your understanding.

Meet the Chef:

Tom Torres, Chef de Cuisine

Tom Torres

Tom Torres grew up in Conesville, just 17 miles from Riverside. There, his grandmother inspired a passion for food and warming hospitality, and his farmer grandfather inspired the values of hard work and using fresh ingredients.

After graduating from the Culinary Arts program at Indian Hills in Ottumwa, Tom's adventures around the world began. He graduated from the International Culinary School in Valladolid, Spain, earning him the distinction of holding culinary certifications on two continents. His travels did not end in Valladolid. He spent 30 months going coast to coast in Spain, then from the south of France to Portugal to the tip of Africa. In that time, he worked in such notable Michelin 2-star restaurants as La Botica and Villa Paramesa. Tom eventually came back to the USA and moved to the Chicagoland area, working at Hotel Arista and Paris Bistro in Naperville. He then spent six years growing as a chef and manager at Market House on the Square in Lake Forest.

In 2019, Tom moved back to Iowa to be closer to family. He worked at Iowa City's Graze before becoming Ruthie's chef de cuisine in 2021.
