Purchasing Buyer

Summary:

Performs purchasing tasks such as buying, processing appropriate paperwork, open orders follow up, data entry, and Item Master files updates.  Responsible for procurement of goods and services at the most cost effective basis: negotiate with vendors for best quality, price and delivery.

Essential Functions:

• Provide exceptional guest service to all customers.
• Develop and maintain professional relationship with vendors.  Keep informed about new products, processes and recommend those that could be beneficial to the company.
• Develop and maintain professional working relationship with all other department’s personnel, including Food & Beverage outlet managers and department directors.
• Knowledge of all levels of purchasing operations.
• Ability to learn and use Agilysys SWS system.
• Send purchase order information to vendors and departments.
• Investigate and document price variances between purchase order and vendor confirmation.  Where applicable, provide alternative product/ vendor solutions.   
• Follow up on overdue purchase orders weekly.
• Work with Accounts Payable on invoice variances.
• Maintain Vendor and Item Master files in SWS.  
• Other duties as assigned.
• This position has access to sensitive company cost information and files and also has the responsibility to maintain arms-length supplier relationships -- therefore, the highest levels of integrity and honesty are essential.

Required:

• Aptitude for working with computer systems.
• Proficiency in MS office – Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Team work skills are a must.
• Working knowledge of Agilysys SWS is a plus.

Schedule:

Full-time, to include occasional weekends and holidays.

Salary:

$40,000 - $50,000/yr (DOE)
