Marketing Coordinator

Summary:

Responsible for a variety of daily marketing activities including: planning and execution of promotions and special events; coordination of contracts and riders for entertainment; coordination and execution audio visual needs for entertainment; media coordination and scheduling; social media planning and postings; scheduling and proofing email, mail and marketing materials; plan and participate in public relations activities; assist in purchasing of marketing supplies; tracking of expenses and budgets.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to all internal and external customers.
  • Coordinates details of casino promotions, tournaments and events including creation of timelines, writing rules, setting up kiosks, purchasing supplies and communication to all departments.
  • Assist the Marketing Manager and Director in planning monthly marketing programs and helps create calendars and other items for successful implementation.
  • Works with other departments to plan marketing activities.
  • Conducts casino promotions, tournaments and events.
  • Set up shows for sale in the company ticketing system.
  • Coordinates set up and tear down of events and promotional areas under the direction of the Marketing Manager.
  • Resolves customer complaints and questions regarding promotions, events etc.
  • Research and document competitor promotions.
  • Assist working at the Resort Club when needed, assisting with VIP events, work gift distribution promotions.
  • Assist customers with questions on mail, points, comps and promotions.
  • Assists the Marketing and Entertainment teams in the planning of entertainment including contract proofing, review of riders, coordination of items artists require for performances, coordination of backline, sound, lights, etc.
  • Works at entertainment events to ensure smooth execution.
  • Assist with proofing design materials, website, email and direct mail campaigns.
  • Posts marketing information and calendars on the promotions boards.
  • Assist in changing out property signage and digital signage.
  • Plan and schedule social media content using the approved standards and platform.
  • Monitor online reputation using the approved ECR platform and respond to reviews within designated time frames.
  • Work closely with Marketing Director to create and maintain a project production schedule.
  • Process sponsorship and donation requests as well as coordinate and participate in other public relations activities.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with a diverse staff.
  • Interface with advertising and/or other agencies to meet deadlines of radio, newsprint and television advertisements.
  • Prepare purchase orders for marketing or entertainment projects and events based on budget.
  • Complies with all Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission Rules and Regulations and any other local, state, or federal guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Attends all company required training.
  • Adheres to all safety guidelines.
  • Meets company attendance requirements.
  • Required to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Public Relations preferred, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Prior experience working in a marketing position within the hospitality industry.
  • Must demonstrate high-level of organizational skills and great attention to detail while operating in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Previous experience/familiarity with audio/visual systems set-up and functioning is a plus.
  • Demonstrated competency in working with MS Word and Excel;
  • Experience with social media and reputation management platforms.
  • Must have excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Be able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in written form.
  • Must demonstrate effective interpersonal skills
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to qualify for and maintain an Iowa Racing and Gaming commission Class C license

Schedule:

Full time working Days, Evenings, Weekends, Holidays

Salary:

$18.50/hr
